Veterinary Surgeon – Independent Practice in Surrey, Patient-Focused Care
- 4 day week
- 31 hours
- 1 in 3 Saturdays (8-12pm)
- No Sundays, Bank Holidays or out of hours work
- 20 minute consults
- Salary £36,375–£48,500 depending on experience (equivalent to £45,000–£60,000 full-time)

- Recently upgraded ultrasound, DR Xray, multi parameters, syringe driver, tonopen and Phovia.
- Morning, afternoon and evening breaks with admin and lunch locked into the dairy.
- Daily team catch up in the morning.

The ideal person would have the following qualities and mindset:
- Experience in first opinion practice. (As a small, supportive team, we are not in a position to offer a new graduate role at this time.)
- Build a relationship with the owners and the pet to provide holistic treatment that caters for their individual needs
- Demonstrate empathy and effective communication with both clients and team members
- Be able to provide thoughtful and solution driven feedback to all team members, including management
- Fostering a culture of continuous growth with self reflection and feedback from others. Clinically and non-clinically.
- Confidently value and price your skills, while maintaining the ability to openly discuss financial implications without apology.

- Head Nurse with referral level experience and a passion for golden standard care

- A reception team that proactively anticipates needs from both client and the team's perspectives, ensuring smooth experiences and efficient operations. They set the tone and they set it well.
- 5 Vets equivalent to 3.5 full time vets. To name a few of their strengths. Vet advancing towards an internal medicine certificate, a surgical powerhouse, a behavioral medicine expert with excellent ultrasound skills, a rare "unicorn" vet who balances both medical, surgical disciplines, vet with years of emergency OOH experience.

Veterinary Receptionist – Independent Practice in Surrey
Patient-Focused Care | Supportive Team | Client Experience at the Heart of What We Do
We are looking for a part-time Veterinary Receptionist to join our friendly, independent practice in Surrey. Due to continued growth, we are creating this role to support the team during our busiest periods.
This role would suit a calm, organised and compassionate receptionist who enjoys building relationships with clients and being an integral part of a close-knit clinical team. Our reception team plays a vital role within the practice, setting the tone for each visit and supporting clients with empathy and professionalism, including during more emotional or difficult moments.
We value a calm, organised approach, particularly during busy periods, where clear communication and teamwork help maintain a positive experience for both clients and colleagues. Our reception team are trusted to use their judgement and work closely with the clinical team to ensure each client and patient receives the most appropriate support.
The Role
- Part-time, permanent position
- In-person role within an independent veterinary practice
- Wednesday 12:00pm to 7:00pm
- 3 in 4 Saturdays, morning shifts from 8:00am to 12:30pm
- Additional holiday cover as required
- Salary £12.71 - £13.00 depending on experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Providing warm, approachable and professional customer service from first contact through to completion of care
- Maintaining an excellent telephone manner and accurate client records
- Ensuring client confidentiality at all times
- Liaising closely with vets and nurses to keep clients informed and up to date
- Managing emails and correspondence efficiently
- Processing payments accurately and handling financial transactions responsibly
- Providing general front desk and administrative support
- Assisting with stock deliveries and maintaining organised workspaces
- Maintaining high standards of cleanliness within reception and consult areas, including regular deep cleaning task
Experience Required
- Minimum one year experience as a Veterinary Receptionist (essential)
- Previous customer service experience (desirable)
- Experience handling payments and financial transactions
- Previous experience within a client care environment

- Strong organisational and multitasking abilities
- Ability to prioritise effectively in a busy environment
